About the Collection:
All Five Designs from our #Design4HerEducation Collection on our soft and stylish long sleeve shirt! Each shirt comes with a special hang tag sharing the story of the designer and their inspiration. Give this gift to women and girls in your life as a reminder that they can dream big and design a life and career they love!
My Social Canvas is proud to join forces with UNICEF Ambassador Dayle Haddon's nonprofit organization, WomenOne. WomenOne works to ensure that every woman and girl has access to a quality education. To kick off #Design4HerEducation – a design contest, scholarship competition, and awareness campaign – My Social Canvas and WomenOne invited the next generation of designers to "Educate a Girl and Change the World." Student designers were asked specifically to submit designs embodying this message with the ultimate reward being a scholarship and the chance to design a new collection from which a portion of proceeds supports girls' education around the world.
We are pleased to announce the following 4 winners who were chosen from hundreds of submissions:
Taylor Fleming, University of Cincinnati, School of Design ($1,000 scholarship recipient)
Zizi Li, Parsons the New School for Design ($1,000 scholarship recipient)
Leah Tanner, University of Guelph, Toronto, Canada ($1,000 scholarship recipient)
Kelsey Thorn, 2012 graduate of Skidmore University & Designer for HerCampus.com. (10% of sales from Kelsey's designs will be donated to WomenOne on behalf of Kelsey and HerCampus.com)
A superstar panel of leaders in fashion and entertainment voted on the final round of designs. The judges included:
- Dayle Haddon: Founder/CEO of WomenOne, UNICEF Ambassador, Author
Kelly Rutherford: Actress ("Gossip Girl," & "Melrose Place”) and Women's Advocate
Christy Turlington Burns: Founder, Every Mother Counts
Anne Fulenwider: Editor-in-Chief, Marie Claire
Erin Flaherty: Beauty and Health Director, Marie Claire
Desiree Gruber: Producer, Project Runway

Ten percent of profits earned will benefit girls' education via WomenOne. Select sales will also benefit our scholarship fund for current and future students involved in the My Social Canvas campus representative program at 50 schools nationwide.
