My Social Canvas partnered with Italian fashion brand Furla to celebrate Earth Day 2017! Furla not only creates beautiful handbags and accessories, but The Fondazione Furla, started by Furla’s President Giovanna Furlanetto, supports emerging artists and designers and helps foster their growth and success. My Social Canvas and Furla connected over our shared commitment to aid young designers and artists and help them achieve their dreams!
For the event, MSC brought in emerging student designers to Furla’s Fifth Avenue flagship store to design customized, one-of-a-kind tote bags that Furla gave as a gift with purchase to customers. Also, 10% of the proceeds from Furla’s Earth Day sales went towards Design the Life You Love and providing young women and girls with scholarships to help them pursue their education.
The student designs were inspired by Furla’s vibrant floral patterns and bold color palettes. By setting up in-store, the designers were surrounded by all of Furla’s beautiful merchandise and got to interact firsthand with customers. The MSC team met a lot of young customers who were super excited to learn about My Social Canvas and our mission. One young girl, Audrey, came into browse the products and tell us how she dreams of being in fashion and even becoming the President one day! Many other girls like her came in and shared their dreams with us and excitement for the My Social Canvas story. These girls are the backbone of this company and connecting with them at such a special event truly inspired the whole team.
MSC feels so privileged for our partnership with Furla for Earth Day. We loved helping emerging designers, spreading the story of our company, and inspiring more young women and girls to design the life and career they love!
